User Accounts Tab

Additional ADS user options
PurposeUse this tab to configure the users of your mail system, and/or, the users of your remote mail system if you require pre-processing of message recipients.
General UseTo add a user to the system click Add and the user details.
When a user is created, a directory is made under the USERS directory in the i-Mail system. To completely remove a user from the system you need to delete the account and also the corresponding directory structure on the server itself. If the user is in an independent domain the users directory will be in a subdirectory off that domain in the DOMAINS directory.
Note: A mail account must have a mail store designated or they will not be saved.
Enable or disable this user on the e-mail system
The user POP mailbox name. This is the name that you enter into your mail client.
If this user is to be a member of an independant domain, enter the domain here.
The directory where the users mail files are actually stored
The e-mail account holders real name
The password to access this accounts e-mail. This is the password that the mail client will ask for. If no password is specified it will be set to the mailbox name.
Enables/Disables a users ability to update their personal details on the mail server via e-mail to 'iMailServer'
With this option enabled, the user must supply thier NetWare password to log in. This requires the POP user name to be a valid NetWare account.
Enables/Disables NetWare broadcast notification of the arrival of new mail. The name specified should be the users NetWare login name
Enables/Disables forwarding of mail to another mailbox. This must be the full e-mail address, for both local forwarding and external forwarding
When forwarding is enabled this option will send the mail to the forward address and also to the recipients normal mailbox
The address you want mail for this user forwarded to
This feature allows incoming mail for this mailbox to print to a NetWare print queue without user intervention. If a queue is not specified no attempt will be made to print the e-mail. If any text is entered here, the i-Mail server will attempt to print to the specified print queue name. Any attachments to messages that are not of text type will be printed as [attachment suppressed]. To specify options for printing see the 'Printing Tab'.
By checking this option, each time you press 'Set', the generic values for the current user are left in the fields and when a new user is added, some default values are created based on the login name. This can aid in the process of adding many names in one session
If a password is entered into this box and the password is left blank for a user, pressing 'Set' will cause the users password to be the default password. Note, passwords are case sensitive.
If your server has the 'Long', 'OS/2' or 'NFS' name space loaded on a volume you can use this option to prevent duplicate mail boxes being used. We strongly urge that you use this option.
This option turns on the 'Use NetWare Passwords' option available to each user on permanently for everyone. If this option is used you will be unable to access mailboxes which are configured for other uses via a POP client.
When a new user is created a default message is placed in the mail box. The contents of this message detail basic account information and mail usage. If you wish to create your own welcome message you may do so by checking this box and providing the full NetWare path to a welcome message text file.
See 'Create Welcome Message'.
This option must be selected to allow the 'User Link Tab' to work. See User Link for more details on how to integrate i-Mail with NetWare.
ConceptsYou can use the user accounts tab to create multiple users with the same mail account. This might be used in the case of a user being the sales administrator and requiring all mail for sales@company.com sent to them.
For a company which has changed its e-mail naming conventions you can create users with multiple known e-mail names, storing their mail in the same mailbox location. This feature can be left on until the new name is sufficiently established.
It can also be used as a mechanism for temporary mail forwarding. Select the user you wish to forward mail for and enter the mailbox name of the desired recipient.
