iManager and MailPoll are utilities that provide remote control of your i-Mail server.
iManager is your easy access utility for monitoring i-Mail and performing routine tasks such as forcing mail collects and send. Up to 10 management stations may be connected to i-Mail at any one time.
MailPoll provides simple double click access to force i-Mail to process and waiting internet mail, inbound and outbound.

iManager and MailPoll do not require any special setup, simply run iManager.exe or MailPoll.exe. The first time iManager is run, you will be informed that the workstation has not been configured. You may configure iManager once it has started by pressing the '>>>' button.

Step 1: Set up the i-Mail directory and iManager defaults
iManager will mostly work while you are disconnected from the network, however the outbox and requeue files are monitored via a direct drive mapping to the server. To tell iManager where the i-Mail base directory resides press the '>>>' button and fill in the appropriate information. You may also add default values for connecting to the i-Mail server to save time.
Step 2: Connect to the server
Press the top right button to establish a connection to the i-Mail server. You will be prompted for access details for the server which should match those entered in the General Tab of i-Mail administrator. After a successful connection the status window will display a line indicating a successful connection and shortly after, all of the status panels will receive current i-Mail information.
Step 3: Use iManager, what the control buttons do
Starting from the top left and working clockwise:
View Lock: Each time a new entry is sent from the i-Mail server the status window will be updated and scrolled to the new information. If you wish to browse uninterrupted through the log window, press this button to lock the view. To free the view, press the button again.
Connect: Use this button to establish a connection with the server and to disconnect from the server.
Clear Page: Clears all items in the status window.
Local Processing: Process all files in the spool directory for known domains, same as pressing 'L' at the server console.
Requeue Files: Press this button to release files which have been requeued due to delivery failure. Same as pressing 'CTRL-Q' at the server console.
Collect Mail: This initiates POP collection from your ISP. Same as pressing 'I' at the server console.
Send Mail: This forces all waiting internet mail to be sent immediately. Same as pressing 'O' at the server console.
Export Log: Copies the current i-Mail log file to EXPORT.LOG in the same directory. Use this if your log viewer cannot access the log file directly. Same as pressing 'E' at the server console.
Housekeeping: Clears up the safe directory and performs other daily tidy up routines. Same as pressing 'H' at the server console.

To activate MailPoll simply double click the MailPoll icon in the system tray. This will create a control file as specified in the command line or the default file 'F:\IMAIL\MAILPOLL\~POLL.TMP'.
It is recommended that MailPoll be used with the default control file. If the i-Mail server resides in a different directory or volume, use the override switch to specify an i-Mail subdirectory. During housekeeping i-Mail will purge any .tmp files created during the day, keeping your volume free of unnecessary clutter.
If the control file cannot be created because of an invalid path or rights problem, a red X will flash on the system tray icon.
MailPoll switches. Add either of these switches to control MailPoll.
| Switch | Description | Default value when not specified |
| /f=filename | Sets the file to be created when the system tray icon is double clicked | /f=F:\IMAIL\MAILPOLL\~POLL.TMP |
| /o=options | This is a pattern of control settings which identify what action should happen when a user activates MailPoll. A '1' indicates the action will be taken, and a '0' sets no action. These settings can be overriden from the MailPoll configuration button in i-Mail admin 'General' tab.
Settings in order from left to right are: 1) Collect internet mail |
