Configuring i-Mail to work with the GroupWise internet agent requires you to setup your GWIA to accept messages from i-Mail.
After installing and starting your GWIA, it is a good idea to test that the TCP/IP functionality is working. This can be done easily by using the included testing program 'SOCKCLIP.NLM' that is installed with i-Mail.
At the server type 'LOAD SOCKCLIP server_ip_address 25' where the IP address is that of your server. This is commonly 192.168.0.1. Type 'CONFIG' at the server console if you are unsure of the IP address of your server.
You should be greeted by the GroupWise internet agent with a line similar to this: '220 mydomain.com GroupWise Internet Agent 5.5.1...'
If this works, you can continue to check the i-Mail configuration. If not, you will need to ensure the GroupWise SMTP service is enabled an properly configured before i-Mail will be able to send messages to it.
After i-Mail installation is complete you will be prompted to run the configuration guide. Fill in the questions as best possible. The final result should be a fully functional i-Mail system.
If you are having difficulty getting the i-Mail blind forwarder working, these are some of the common problems that may cause difficulties.
Invalid licence codes:
During the setup guide you are prompted to enter your licence codes. By default this is setup to install a 5 user demo version of i-Mail. The blind forwarder codes must be selected for i-Mail to work in this mode. Either re-run the install guide and select the correct codes or enter them into i-Mail admin. The 5 user demo key is 'CHECKOUT' and the blind forwarder key is 'TRYITOUT'.

No PostMaster configured:
On a blind forwarding i-Mail system the PostMaster must be set as a user on another e-mail server - even if the physical server is the same - and a full e-mail address must be supplied.

Disabled services:
For i-Mail to collect mail from the internet the 'Enable POP collect' service needs to be enabled, and to send mail to GroupWise the 'Enable Local SMTP' must be turned on.

(TCP Ports/Connections)
Invalid port number:
The GroupWise internet agent only accepts mail from i-Mail on port 25.

(TCP Ports/Connections)
Invalid domain configuration:
This step is easy to get confused with and to be 'over-configured'.
As far as i-Mail is concerned, the GroupWise internet agent is a remote domain. No hosted domains should be listed.
Your domain should show up in the remote domains section and the options, displayed when clicking the domain, should be similar to those shown in the image below. The destination host is the IP address of the server with GWIA running on it. It is very important that the 'Use local users' check box is off! This identifies to i-Mail that e-mail addresses should not be compared to it's local database and that any addresses for the domain(s) listed are forwarded on as is.
The 'Forward to' box identifies the user that should receive any mail that does not contain addresses for anyone at the listed domain.
