Mail Scan Tab

Purpose

Use this tab to integrate third-party or your own applications with i-Mail.

General Use

Each directory listed in the directories to scan will be scanned for mail messages on the local process run. Mail is distributed to other i-Mail processes for handling and will be processed in the normal manner and schedule.

To scan directories on another NetWare server, precede the mail with the server name and a slash character, i.e. remote_svr/sys:mailout. A user name and password must be supplied for the other server to allow i-Mail to access the file system. The user should have full rights to the directory so that i-Mail can read the message and delete it after processing.

Priority mail can be enabled for individual mailscan directories. For more details on priority mail, see the 'Schedule Tab'.

Press the 'Add' button to add a new mailscan path. Path names must be in NetWare server format i.e. volume:path.
