Year 2000 Compliance

i-MailDS Logo

Which versions are Y2K compliant:

i-Mail versions 1.10 and above are certified by Digital Integration (NZ) Ltd as year 2000 compliant when run on hardware and operating systems that are Year 2000 compliant. Version 1.00 is not certified, however it has no known dependencies on dates and therefor should not be affected.

Compliance requirements:

For Y2K compliance, the hardware and operating systems that i-Mail runs on must also be Year 2000 tested and approved. The latest service packs and Year 2000 updates for NetWare must be installed and hardware should also be tested to ensure both i-Mail and the NetWare server are compliant. If any of these core components of the server are not Year 2000 ready we cannot guarantee the functionality of i-Mail.

How does i-Mail conform to Y2K ready specifications:

All dates and times within i-Mail are stored as a number of seconds from the reference date of January 1 1970. From these reference values all time frames are calculated as numbers of minutes, hours and days. i-Mail does not have any dependency on actual dates and therefor is unaffected by the Year 2000 problem.

i-Mail workstation and management utilities:

All utilites provided with i-Mail are certified for Year 2000, given the operating system that they are run from are Year 2000 compliant.

Keeping up to date:

As with all software, there is some element of risk of errors that have not been discovered. Keep up to date with i-Mail by subscribing to our update notification list. All upgrades of i-Mail to new versions will be free of charge until at least January 31 2000 for registered users.
