Latest News (20 January 2001)
This udpate to the latest version of i-MailDS fixes most of the internal
problems encountered with the system, and can be relied on for general
purpose use on the NetWare platform.
Most of the larger issues encountered with the previous update (non bug related)
are still in effect. Refer to the list below to see if any of these affect you.
Windows is now on the OS list that i-MailDS will run on. When installing you
will be given the option of installing either the NLM or EXE version. Refer to the
Windows release news link on the home page for more information.
Known Issues
Take a moment to scan through these issues to see if you might be adversely
affected by installing the update.
-
IMAP - This has not changed since build 13 (i.e. it doesn't work)
-
NNTP - The admin program still causes an abend when applying security info
-
Detox - Typeset ordering needs to be done manually from the config file if required
-
MX/DNS lookup - These may hang a thread for up to 10 minutes if a DNS server
cannot be contacted, or is difficult to reach.
-
Some of the changes made in admin require the NLM to be reloaded. Watch the
server log window to see if the update is recorded. If no information about
an applied update is shown, a restart is needed.
-
After running the upgrade wizard, any POP collectors with an identifier
(number in brackets) need to have the brackets removed. Duplicates POP
server and username combinations are not allowed, so you will need to
either disable or remove them
-
Subscription lists will work, but additions/deletions may be affected in
the next version. You will need to keep a copy of the 'subscrbe.dat'
file in imail\config which contains additions and deletions to lists made
by the NLM. The code that does this is to be completely redesigned
and the subscription file will no longer be valid
-
Auditing does not work. This is also undergoing a massive change
to be more flexible
-
The NLM help screens don't match the actual screens
